Techstars, A US-based Accelerator Expands To Korea

Techstars, a US-based seed accelerator with a worldwide network and Hillstone Partners ,a Korean capital consultancy firm unveiled the launch of a program aimed at startups In Korea.

The new entity called Techstars Korea Accelerator in partnership with Hillstone Partners, will  offer three-month mentorship-driven programs and will begin accepting applications in December 2019.
The accelerator will be hosted at the Pangyo Techno Valley campus (PTV), a business and innovation hub focused on information technology, biotech, cultural and fusion tech. PTV also  known as the Silicon Valley of Korea, approximately 25 minutes from downtown Seoul. The accelerator will look for 10 top performing startups per year with the first batch to start in June 2020.
Techstar Korea Accelerator will support and nourish the Korean startup ecosystem and is open to startups focused on digital and tech innovation across a variety of business verticals. Techstars expansion to Korea marks its commitment to continued global expansion and efforts to help entrepreneurs succeed across the world. Techstars will join the ranks of other US-based tech companies such as Google and Facebook that have set up shop in past years.

This is a very exciting venture for Techstars, considering Korea’s access to other major Asian markets, the country’s massive internal market, and both the  public and private sectors interest in mobilizing the tech industry.”
